Tanner J. Thompson, age 26, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the local hospital.  Tanner was born April 5th, 1998 in Watertown, SD to Dave Thompson & Bobbie Koistinen. He attended school in Watertown, SD & Tucson, AZ.

Tanner had a smile that lit up a room, paired with the heart of a kid. He was always up for a big hug, a good laugh, and playing with his beloved nieces and nephews, with whom he shared a deep and special connection. Tanner loved the thrill of getting on any bike with two wheels, skateboarding, racing, and seeking out any adventure that promised excitement. His fearless attitude meant that not much could scare him, and he loved to challenge himself with new experiences. Tanner was competitive at heart, he won many skateboarding competitions and dirt bike races growing up.

Tanner’s love for his family & friends was profound, and he would do anything for anyone. He was deeply in love with his girlfriend, Alyssa Montgomery, as they were building their lives together. He also cherished working with his dad and brothers even if they didn’t always agree on how or when things should be done. He recently was so excited after all his studying and hard work he obtained his CDL License to drive truck and started their new venture with Four T’s and Properties putting in a lot of hours into the building to get it ready. The extra layer of love that came from working in a family business was something he was deeply grateful for. Tanner was immensely proud of his family members, and his presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Tanner is survived by his father, Dave (Robin) Thompson, Watertown, SD; mother, Bobbie Koistinen, Tucson, AZ;  six sisters, Tara (Thompson) (Nic) Allen, Sioux Falls; Nicole (Crawford) (Michael) Moseley, Marana, AZ, Brooke Koistinen, Tucson, AZ, Sandy (Todd) McConnell, Sioux Falls, SD; Cortney Hoffman, Canon City, CO, Desirae Hoffman, Watertown, SD; four brothers, Telly (Serena) Thompson, Watertown,SD, Ty Thompson, Watertown, SD, Brandon Koistinen, Los Angeles, CA, Bolton Hoffman, Sioux Falls, SD; girlfriend, Alyssa Montgomery, Watertown, SD; nieces, Jayda & Brynlee Allen, Blakely Thompson, Zaylee Morales, Aribella Hoffman, Eloise Hoffman, Sabreana & Sarina Moseley; nephews, Carter McConnell, Cade & Colt Thompson; Aiden & Mason Moseley; two grandmothers, Bonnie Thompson, Margaret McAdams; grandfather, Daniel Biagini; and many cousins, aunts, and  uncles.
